How it all started

MichsMakes started during Lockdown when my passion for fabric and making useful items for family and friends became that little bit more. I wanted to create items that were not only useful for us and around our homes but were also re-useable and helping to reduce down the amount we throw away in our bins after single or couple of uses

All items are made with 100% cotton and are all fully machine washable on a 30 or 40 degree wash.

The majority of the materials are bought locally to reduce down our carbon footprint, including going to Vintage Sales to buy clothing which can be stripped down and reused.

About me.....

I make and create everything by hand from my sewing studio at home. I also work part time for a Community Charity and am a mum to 2 boys so sewing has always been my happy place. I find it relaxing and exciting to think that my creations are popping up all across the country!

A bit about each of the items.....

Kitchen Scrubbers

Kitchen Scrubbers is where it all started. They come in a pack of two and are made from 100% cotton on the front, quality Hessian on the back and in the middle 100% natural bamboo lining. Bamboo Lining not only makes them thicker but it is also a natural and antibacterial material.

These will last at least 6 months and will go in the compost bin at the end of their lives to live again!

Sandwich Bags

Instead of using cling film or tin foil these Sandwich Bags are ideal to store sandwiches, wraps, rolls and snacks, keeping the food fresh and ready to eat.

They are full machine washable and have a wipeable material inside so come home, turn inside out wipe through and machine wash once a week no more cling film or tin foil needed!

Soap Bags

These soap bags are designed for the whole bar of soap to go inside them just like an envelope. The material is 100% cotton on the front and soft flannel on the back.

It enables you to use ALL the soap, the amount you NEED, never LOSE your soap with the handy loop and no more SOGGY soap! Machine washable

Make Up Wipes

They may be small but they are mighty. 10x7cms each one and there are 8 in a pack. 100% cotton on the front and soft flannel on the back idea for eye make up and face make up removal using your own products. Machine washable

Face Wipes

These Face Wipes come in a pack of two and are larger and thicker than the make up wipes. 12x12cms and they have 100% cotton on the front, soft flannel on the back but with an additional layer in the middle with 100% natural bamboo lining making them more absorbent and also the bamboo lining is anti-bacterial to use. Easy to wash in the machine or rinse out over night.

Unpaper Towels

In our house we were using so many paper towels and putting in the bin that I came up with an alternative that you can use again and again - fully machine washable.

Each sheet is 25x25cms and you get 5 in a pack.

100% cotton on the front and grey waffle material on the back.

Perfect to mop up all this spills and splats or use as posh napkins!
